Apple ships third developer betas for iOS 27, macOS 27 and its other major platforms

Apple has moved its next major software cycle into a new developer-testing round, posting third betas for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, visionOS 27 and watchOS 27 on its developer releases page on July 6, 2026. The same release batch also includes fourth betas for the current-cycle 26.6 updates across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS and watchOS.

The update matters less as a single headline feature drop and more as a timing signal for app makers. Apple’s developer page lists iOS 27.0 beta 3 as build 24A5380h, iPadOS 27.0 beta 3 with the same build number, macOS 27.0 beta 3 as build 26A5378j, tvOS 27.0 beta 3 as build 24J5315i, visionOS 27.0 beta 3 as build 24M5316k and watchOS 27.0 beta 3 as build 24R5315i. Those releases give developers another round for compatibility testing across phone, tablet, desktop, TV, spatial-computing and wearable apps.

Why developers should pay attention

Beta 3 is usually the point in a summer platform cycle when teams start moving from early exploration toward repeatable testing. Developers can compare behavior across the new 27.0 platform track and the still-active 26.6 maintenance track, which Apple also updated on July 6. That pairing is useful for teams trying to decide whether a bug is tied to a future platform change, a current operating-system update or an application-level issue.

Apple’s listing links each platform release to downloads, and most entries include release notes.
