Meta has introduced Seller, a dedicated app for people who sell on Facebook Marketplace, turning one of Facebook's largest commerce surfaces into a more specialized workflow for frequent sellers. The company says the app is available now on the App Store for people in the United States who are 18 or older, with a web experience for sellers who download the app on iOS and Android testing underway.

The launch matters because Marketplace is no longer just a casual listings tab inside Facebook. Meta says 430 million items are listed on Marketplace globally each month, alongside 44 million vehicle listings, and that one in three young adults on Facebook in the United States uses Marketplace daily. Those figures frame Seller as an attempt to keep power sellers inside Meta's network while giving them tools closer to what they might expect from a standalone commerce product.

What Seller Adds

Seller syncs with Facebook Marketplace, so existing listings, buyer messages and sales history carry over. New listings created in the app also appear back on Marketplace, where buyers already search. The app's home screen is designed around seller tasks such as shipping items, responding to buyers and repricing listings, while performance views show metrics including views, clicks, message threads and sold listings.

Meta is also putting AI directly into the listing flow. After a seller uploads product photos, Meta AI can fill in details such as the title, description, suggested price and category. Bulk listing tools are intended to help sellers publish multiple items faster, and a unified inbox groups buyer conversations by item so sellers can track what each message is about without jumping between threads.

Part Of A Broader Facebook Shift

The company positioned Seller alongside other purpose-built Facebook apps for heavy users, including Forum for Groups and a reimagined Facebook Creator Studio. In Meta's telling, the strategy is to keep the main Facebook network intact while giving specialized users focused apps for jobs they perform repeatedly.

Seller's scope is still limited. Meta has not announced Android app availability beyond testing, and the launch is currently focused on U.S. adults using Apple's App Store. Even so, it gives Marketplace sellers a clearer operations hub and shows how Meta is using AI features to reduce listing friction in everyday commerce rather than only in standalone chatbot experiences.
